Silver & Glass Earrings Using Glass Setting Templates by Pam East

Learn how to use Pam East's Glass Setting Templates to create light weight silver and glass earrings.

The light, airy designs of these templates use less silver clay than more traditional approaches.  Small glass cabs (6mm to 10mm) can be fused directly to a back plate without the use of overlap or prongs.  Pendants using medium or large size glass (15mm to 25mm) should be held in place with clay prongs or a top plate.  Glass and silver will fuse together between 1275°F (690°C) and 1325°F (720°C). Higher temps may cause the glass to shift and distort.
