Art Clay™
The Art Clay series of products are made of pure metal powders mixed with non-toxic binders and water. When kiln, torch or stove top fired, the binders burn away, leaving pure silver (99.9% silver), pure copper (more than 99.5% copper), or gold (22K).
Art Clay Silver
- Consists of pure silver particles, binding agent and water. The binding agent is produced from natural pulp fiber.
- During firing, the pure silver particles solidify, and turn into pure silver (over 99.96%) . The binding agent consists of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen, and when fired, results in the release of a small amount of carbon dioxide and steam during the firing process.
- This product is low temperature - firing clay that can be fired from 650℃/1200°F, and turns into pure silver (over 99.96%) after firing. The special formula of this product allows for combining with glass, porcelain and ceramic materials, and is also suitable for firing with sterling silver finding or wire. (Use of SV925 and higher quality and the firing temperature at 650℃/1200°F, and holding time for 30 minutes is recommended).
- The surface of the fired piece will be white and matte due to crystallization of silver during firing, but a luster can be obtained by polishing.
Art Clay Copper
Art Clay Copper is a clay material to make a wide range of pieces such as jewelry, craft designs, and objects like sculptures and models. Art Clay Copper can be fired in an electric kiln with or without using carbon, with the resulting fired piece being more than 99.5% pure Copper. (The percentage of copper in the clay state is 90%.)
Art Clay Bronze
Art Clay Bronze(TM) is a clay material to make a wide range of pieces such as jewelry, craft designs, and objects like sculptures and models. Art Clay Bronze must be fired in an activated carbon under reducing atmosphere using a programmable electric kiln, with the resulting fired piece being solid alloy (Copper 90%, Tin 10%).
Art Clay Gold
- Art Clay Gold is a water-based gold clay that can be modeled in the same way as with the other Art Clay series products.
- It will transform to high quality 22-Karat gold after firing.
- Art Clay Gold consists of 22k gold powder, binding agent and water. The binding agent is produced from harmless pulp fiber.
- Ingredient: 95% of indicated weight is K22 (Gold 91.7%, Silver 8.3%). After firing: K22 100%
- Contracts about 15% during the firing process.
