Cast brass component. This casting will arrive with a bright, pure brass finish as shown.
Brass ring cores can be safely fired with silver, bronze and copper clays, when fired in carbon media.
Fire with silver clay inside coal carbon at 1625°F, full ramp for 2 hours. No preparation of the brass core is needed. Co-firing silver clays with brass and copper ring cores is an economical and easy way to make a ring. Note that the melting temperature of brass is 1700ºF and the optimum temperature of firing fine silver is 1650ºF, so firing at or below 1650ºF is recommended.
