Pebeo Porcelaine 150 - Parma Violet - Opaque

These versatile paints can be applied to almost any heat-stable surface, including porcelain, crockery, terra-cotta, metal, ceramic, and glass. Allow painted items to dry for 24 hours, then bake them in your home oven at 300°F for 35 minutes for a finish that's as permanent as fired enamel.

With a range of more than 50 lightfast colors, these professional water based paints blend beautifully with one another and thin medium. Once fired, Porcelaine 150 colors are safe for common detergents and solvents, the dishwasher (top rack), and outdoor use. The paints are non-toxic but not recommended for use on surfaces that come in contact with food.

Hints and Tips:

  • Pebeo recommends that you use a soft, natural fiber brush, such as a red sable watercolor brush, to apply Porcelaine 150. A soft brush will have the right consistency for the paint, and is less likely to leave brush marks.
  • Only decorate surfaces not intended for food contact
  • Can be used on any materials capable of withstanding a temperature of 300°F
  • To prepare surface, Degrease with alcohol or soapy water
  • Use water or alcohol on a cotton swab for minor repairs before baking
  • If piece browns after baking, oven temperature was to high or baking time may have been to long.
  • Use thinner to thin colors instead of water, as water may undermine the product's properties, including resistance to washing.
  • If color bubbles when baking, paint was not allowed to dry for long enough or the painted surface was too porous.
  • If colors change in the dishwasher, the surface wasn't degreased properly, the color was diluted with water, or the temperature settings and cooking time were not met.
  • Fire Porcelain 150 only once. Multiple firing may cause color changes or browning.
  • Metallic colors do not contain metal particles so they can be used on pieces that will be put in the microwave after they have been baked.
  • Porcelain 150 can be used on any glass mirror that can withstand the baking temperature
  • When baking, it is advisable to insert the object in the oven when it is still cold and once finished baking, allow the oven to cool before removing the object.
  • Paint must dry for 24 hours. If paint is not totally dry, the water in the paint will boil and create defects such as bubbles or blisters on the surface
