This C-4 Scelex from Thompson prevents fire scale and oxidation from forming on raw metal surfaces during the enamel firing process. Apply a thin layer to metal surfaces and allow to dry before firing. Scalex will fall off as the metal cools, leaving a clean surface. Sold in liquid form.

"I'm not loving this item. IDK if I am using it incorrectly or if it just is the way it is. I find it dirty and even though it covers the bare copper, it still leaves the copper dirty and for me, I end up putting it into the pickle to clean it back up. So into the pickle with or without the Scalex. Which is why I don't love it and unless I find I am using it incorrectly, I won't be using it moving forward."
