Separation Enamel

Separation Enamel is painted in any design over 2-3 coats of pre-fired transparent and/or opaque enamels, with a transparent enamel being the final coat. When fired, the separation enamel changes the viscosity of the area producing a flowing or spreading, somewhat similar to a marbleized effect. Dry and fire at 1450°-1550°F for 2-5 minutes. Can also be torch fired.

Q&A

Can this be applied UNDER hard fusing clear (2040)?
You can fire the separation enamel in and then sift and fire clear over top of it, but we would not recommend 2040. 2040 is a hard fusing clear and should be used as a base coat and not top coat. 2007 should be used instead.
It says to mix the powder with squeegee oil (ENL-055) can a dilution of Klr-Fire be used as well?
Hi Jill, we do not recommend klyr-fire over squeegee oil with separation enamel. Other mediums can be used like lavender oil or the acrylic medium, but not klyr-fire as it would be too thin.
