Saves lots of time!

"I’ve saved so much time...and my hands...with these shears. I find that they must be clamped, or bolted, down though. I do wish there was something to initially get a long piece of metal straight from one end to the other when you can’t see the end of the blade. I’m using a long ruler for now. Overall, I’m very happy."

Economy Bench Shear

"The ability of the shear to cut larger gauge metal is great. I wish there was a better platform to hold the metal. The round disk for holding the metal in place is not as good as I think it should be. Including information about turning or re-sharpening the blades would have been a very good idea."

great affordable bench shear

"My first cut had a little more curl than I wanted and was I was a little disappointed. I tightened the bolt that snugs up the blade. This made lesser space between the top and bottom blade. Now, I am so happy with this shear. there is very little distortion of metal. Also, I have been able to cut through a 14 inch piece of copper sheet that is approx 20 gauge and you can get a pretty straight cut the whole way. You just keep feeding through. Some of this may be common sense. But this is my first bench shear and I am still learning its capabilities. There are so many shears for sale. I am very happy with the one I chose."

BEWARE!!!

"Copy on this product and video states "This can help while making larger pieces of jewelry like bangle and cuff bracelets." Later it goes on to say, "When making longer cuts, it’s nice to have that additional support for holding your piece." This by no means makes "longer cuts" and it cannot handle a bracelet cuff. It DOES NOT state that the throat is short, so the maximum length you can cut is 4-1/2 inches. Does that qualify as a longer cut or reflect in any way the length of most bracelet cuffs? When I called about this, I got a convaluted explanation from Cara, who became quite argumentative. Because of the deceptive nature of the copy and video narration, I feel that I should not be charged return shipping. Looks like I will end up owning this piece and buying another bench shear that can actually cut cuffs from another vendor."

Not happy with the size

"The shear itself may be helpful in my work…however I gave it 3 stars because the description stated it had a 6” blade, I assumed it could cut up to a 6” inch piece pf metal. I cannot use it for the purpose I purchased it for."
