"This worked great since I have a small kiln. I'll be purchasing again."

"My kiln's inner space is quite small so it was nice to be able to make a custom sized box that fit perfectly. Unfortunately it only lasted 4 firings at about 930 C for 3 hours, and then just taking the box out of the kiln it developed a big crack in the bottom. It had felt somewhat fragile after about two firings and I always tried to handle it carefully because of that. I'll need to find something sturdier but otherwise worked as advertised, no messes in the kiln after firings."

"I have tried every stainless steel container, and the most highly recommended flaked the worst. My kiln is a mess. I haven't fired this yet, but looking forward to it, friends have vouched that it doesn't flake. But I have to say, THANK GOODNESS for the video! The printed directions for folding the box are awful! Video made it a breeze! Thank you!"

"Magic Carbon in a No-Flake Foil box is the only way I fire bronze and copper."

"The instructions that came with this product were next to useless. I wish I had found this video beforehand, but it still isn't as easy as it looks. You notice that the person is not wearing gloves - understandable because it would be pretty difficult to do with gloves on, but you might end up with a few cuts. After making the first part, I realized that it would be a lot easier if all the necessary lines were scored before folding. For the second part (lid), I taped the sheet flat on a cutting mat, then scored all the necessary lines, including the cutting lines. I used a ball burnisher to make grooves. After that it was much easier to cut and fold the sheet. Next time I think I will make the box out of a sheet of paper, check that it is the size and shape I want, then unfold and use as a cutting/scoring guide."

"I love this stuff and using graph paper calculated based on the fold information - different sizes to fit my kiln. I use my paper cutter to first square up the sheet and then cut it down to the size I need. The instructions do give the information on forming 3 different size boxes but that is where the problem comes in. If you want to create the largest box (6 x 5 x 2 1/2) -the instructions state that you need a 9 x 12 sheet. Each sheet is almost 12 x 12 (but not a perfect square) - no problem for making the bottom of the box. BUT FOR THE LID - you need a piece that is 9 1/4 by 12 1/4. The sheets really need to be a 12 1/2 x 12 1/2 piece allowing you to make any slight adjustments to perfect the square and enough left over to make the lid. My recommendation is watch the video on how to put a box together and then make a box with graph paper first. With the graph paper, you can figure any changes in size and practice first before using up your material."

"Great product for its purpose, but watch the video for folding instructions. I tried to follow the written instructions which were very poor. My foil was a hot mess by the time I was done."

"This Firing foil was the best for my mini Kiln...It works perfectly for firing my copper metal clay...I follow the instructions for making my firing box , tweak a few measurements and it came out great."

"These foil boxes do not last forever but they do not create a mess inside of the kiln.I teach 2 classes a week and I have been using this one foil box twice a week for about 4 months now. It is now starting to deteriorate but still gets the job done. I have used other metal firing vessel and I was VERY unhappy with the mess that I was left with in my kiln post firing due to the flaking of the firing vessel. This foil box leaves NO MESS BEHIND!"

"All the products I've ordered from Cool Tools have been great! Recently ordered the No-Flake Firing Foil and it's wonderful. I fire mostly bronze clays and I love that my new kiln is still wonderfully white, thanks to this foil. But even better than their products, the customer service is simply amazing!"
