AJ Newell is a metalsmith, enamelist, and metal clay artist known for her sculptural approach to jewelry and love of experimentation. With a background in graphic design and marketing, she spent 20 years as a Creative Director while also immersing herself in metal arts. Her work ranges from whimsical miniatures to expressive character pieces and explorations in anticlastic forming. She frequently incorporates 24K gold and applies bold patinas to her work to create striking contrasts. She teaches online, at venues across the U.S. and at her home studio in Virginia.
