Mixed Metals using Goldie Clays by Karen Trexler

Discover the beauty of mixed metals with Goldie Clay! Goldie Clays come in powder form, and can be mixed only as needed. Karen shows how to mix to the correct consistency, and how to carve into copper clay and inlay brass clay to create striking patterns and contrast in your designs.

You’ll also learn the proper firing schedule and process to ensure successful results with mixed metal pieces. After firing, Karen walks through the finishing process using a rotary tool and split mandrel, sanding progressively from 220 grit up to 1000 grit to level the raised areas and achieve a smooth, professional finish.

Note: The work surface you’ll see throughout the video is actually a sneak peek at a brand new product we’ll be releasing on June 5th! ☺️

Goldie Clay is available in a variety of base metals. Click here for all Goldie Clays.
