The Prometheus Pro-1-PRG is a great little kiln, suitable for both personal and professional use. It is perfect for small scale work, and is ideal for firing metal clay, enamel and ceramics. It is also great for china painting, annealing and hardening silver, gold and other metals, and small glass fusing, like dichroic glass cabochons. This mini kiln consumes less electricity than a simple hair dryer! Thanks to its small and lightweight size, it's easy to take with you.
The Prometheus Kiln has four embedded heating elements at the top, bottom and both sides that provides better heat distribution across the inside of the kiln, a crucial feature for firing precious metal clay or enamels.
Prometheus Pro1-PRG has a programmable digital controller attached that is designed especially for glass fusing and glass beads annealing. The user can set 15 different programs with 5 steps in each of them with the controller. Unlike the Pro-1, this kiln also has a timer.
Choose with or without a window. Note: Exceeding 900°C / 1652°F can damage the glass of the window. It will become black and no longer visible to see through. Window measures 2" tall by 1-1/8" wide. Note: The mica used in Prometheus Pro1PRG Kilns is natural mica, and its surface may contain small black flecks on the window. These flecks will not negatively affect the kiln’s operation.
Note: The hole in the door of the standard kiln is for ventilation purposes and is supposed to be there. It is important that you don't try to plug the hole with anything or use it as a peep hole as getting this close to the kiln while firing could damage your eyes. The plate around the hole as well as the area around the door of the kiln can show more discoloration with use and this is completely normal.

"This is easy to program and use. I like that it has like 15 programs available! I have only used it for silver thus far but will be able to use it for copper and bronze!"

"I’m in love with this lil kiln. It is currently used to enamel. But metal clay is on my mind too. Outer shell does not get very hot, it heats to 1430 in 20 minutes, no initial burn out fumes, easy to program once you do it a few times. I bought with window and there were a few large spots. The manufacturer is sending a replacement window. Good to know it is easily replaced. The manual states to use with a stilted shelf or firing rack. I use the 3” racks with mica or fiber disc cut to size. Items should not lay directly on kiln floor. I highly recommend to any hobbyist/artist who needs a lil kiln without breaking bank! Bonus!! Easy to travel with!"

"It's exactly what I needed. The temperature seems accurate. When I first tried to program it; I had some questions. I emailed Cool Tools on a Saturday morning and they responded immediately! Excellent service. I've used it a few times and it's worked great."

"I did my first firing yesterday and was really impressed with the results. I love my new kiln!!! The temperature is accurate and this kiln is exactly what I needed for my metal clay projects. The manual is not very clear though and I was glad to find tutorials online to fully understand the programming. I definitely recommend this kiln to everyone who’s looking for a good quality one."

"I really love my new kiln. Takes a little bit to learn the programming but it is pretty simple. Read directions well. It is a small kiln that is great for a side gig or hobbyist. So much better than torching!"
— Carla M. (5/5)
"I didn't want to spend the $1,300 for a regular table top kiln. This is smaller yes, but it's just perfect still for firing metal clay and enameling! It's easy to program, and fits just what I need to fire just as well."
— Tania (5/5)
"I am enamored with this kiln. It's incredibly beginner friendly. I would definitely recommend this to a friend. It heats up in under 20 minutes for sure. I want to say about 10-15. I noted that I'm losing about 50-100 degrees when I open the kiln door and it rebounds just like the paragon I've used at craft centers. It arrived packaged VERY well with clear instructions. The door is easier to open than I expected as well. I haven't had any problems knocking my work around. Like I said I love this kiln, and it's great for someone like me who moves often and doesn't have a studio or a lot of space to work in. I did a lot of reading and research before I bought this and I am VERY HAPPY with my decision!"
