Intro to Setting Molds by Karen Trexler

Collection: Intro to Setting Molds by Karen Trexler

Learn how to use Setting Molds to create perfect settings in metal clay. Karen embellishes her setting with a leaf and organic bail. Karen creates an oval setting, but these molds are also available in square and round.

Designed by Karen Trexler, Cool Tools Setting Molds are silicone molds designed to create perfect settings for faceted stones. Each mold is designed for one faceted stone shape, and will allow users to create two different styles of settings for three sizes of stones in that shape. Simply press clay into the low areas of the molds and scrape away extra clay to make perfect bezel or prong style settings for stones. If you are creating a prong style setting, in addition to the edges of these molds having embellished sides that allude to a prong setting, the mold is designed to produce four elements to be placed on top of the setting and slightly over the stone, to give the look of a prong bent over the stone. No release agent is needed with these molds.
