Cool Cup - Soldering Cup with Tweezer

Protect heat sensitive stones when soldering! This cup is a jeweler's dream for soldering rings when re-sizing. Just fill the cup with cold water and submerge the stone and mounting while soldering the shank to keep the stone cool. Simple, but effective. Soldering cup includes special sized negative locking tweezer designed to slip on and off the post. This is a tool for virtually every jeweler.

Just what I need for repair jobs. Just need to make some adjustments.

"When I saw this, I thought this was perfect for when I need to make repairs on a ring, etc. that already has stones set into it (at least when the damage is towards the opposite side where the stones are) and cannot remove them without causing damage to either design or any parts. Whether or not they are heat sensitive, particularly if I set the stone with glue or other ways that may conflict with using heat. I took a star off because the extension to the bowl and the tweezers are slightly warped enough that I cannot slide them together. I don't think it's from shipping because it was well-packaged enough (but then again, I did order something with it that had a little more weight to it), but fixing it will take me a little effort. The bowl part was easy enough to bend into alignment by hand, but the tweezers will need to either be reshaped at the slit where it slides onto the bowl or try to bend its shape to make the slits align better. I'm thinking of just shaving the slits wider to make them both leveled out since they may be the easier route, but I fear that may risk tampering with its stability. So I will attempt to bend them into alignment first. So when purchasing this, I'd say just be aware that you might need to adjust its alignment some."
