"excellent choice for fire bronze clay in kiln,. Do not alter the cz, keeps color and clarity. Thank you"

Maintained color in firing

"I found the best way to fire this CZ (blue topaz) was to set into silver clay, do a burn out on open shelf ramped to 650 degrees F for 40 minutes, let cool in kiln, bury in carbon and fire at 1475 F for one hour. Rhonda from Cool Tools was a great help when I emailed about my first failed attempt firing on an open shelf only and the stones turned dark red. I did use the low fire Phoenix PMC which was recommended but I think other silver clays will work if you follow the steps above unless it’s a piece that needs a higher temperature firing like 1650 F for two hours. Not sure about that. For my earrings, the lower temperature worked fine."
