Firing Media - Coal Carbon - Rainbow Patina

Use this coal-based, acid-washed activated carbon to embed metal clay pieces for firing if you want to create a more richly colorful patina on pieces during the firing process. To prepare the carbon for use, place it inside the container, cover with the lid and fire for 30 minutes at 1,550°F.

This carbon can also be used to protect stones when firing any type of metal clay.
