Firing Media - Magic Carbon Fast Firing

Cool Tools Magic Carbon is a special activated carbon firing media for firing bronze, copper and silver clay. It produces an antique patina on bronze and copper clays, which eliminates the need for for additional patination. Magic Carbon is reliable for all brands of copper, bronze and silver clays.

Full ramp to 1650°F/899°C, hold 30 minutes.

This carbon can also be used to protect stones when firing any type of metal clay.

The ONLY carbon that should EVER be used

"Calling this carbon MAGIC CARBON is not just a catchy sales tactic it REALLY FIRES LIKE MAGIC!!! This is the only carbon I will ever use!!!! When firing copper I have been able to completely eliminate the two stage firing method for all my copper pieces in one single stage. ONLY WHEN USING MAGIC CARBON. I slowed down the ramp on my kiln to 500f/hour to 1700f and I held it there for 3.5 hours. VIOLA!!!! Success and full sintering was achieved!!!! However, all kilns are different and one should ALWAYS perform some test firings because kilns due vary from one make and model to another. There might be some SLIGHT modifications in hold times and temperatures. (give or take 50 degrees and 30 minutes)"
