Use to form metal clay rings and wax ring designs.
Revolving stepped and plain wood mandrel with base. Allows for a full 360 degree horizontal or vertical rotation. Ideal for metal clay work. Smoothly and easily turn your piece as you work on it. Sizes 4 through 13 are clearly marked on each step. Mandrel can easily be removed from the stand for doing handheld detailed work. Be sure to make a sleeve from waterproof mandrel paper before creating with metal clay. A sleeve MUST be used for all metal clays. To make a sleeve, cut a 1" wide strip of freezer paper, long enough to wrap around the mandrel. Tape the end of the paper to itself so a sleeve is formed. Now you can create your metal clay ring on this sleeve and easily remove it.

"I made my first two rings and I was glad I had a mandrel on a base. It truly was the third hand."

"Trying my hand at ring making for the first time, so the price point on this mandrel was just right. A tight fit on the base requires some elbow grease but otherwise works well. Cool Tools has an amazing array of equipment for metal clay and their delivery is quick."

"This is a great tool for the price if you make rings. The base is very sturdy and I'm able to reposition the tool as needed. Would recommend to anyone making clay rings!"

"I've finally given in and purchased this tapered mandrel for better accuracy on my ring sizing and I'm very glad I did. I got the perfect size on my first try (I'm usually trying to size rings up after firing them)."
