Medium Enamel Opaque - Lead-Free

Formulated to perform beautifully on a variety of metal and glass substrates, Thompson lead-free enamels are quality-made to deliver dependable, repeatable results. This medium-temperature, high acid-resistant enamel fires at temperatures from 1,400°–1,500°F (760°–815°C) on fine silver, copper, gold, low-carbon steel and fired silver, copper or gold metal clay.

Coefficient of expansion range: 258-360 cubic expansion. Raw enamel powder will change color slightly when fired. Lead-free. 80 Mesh.

Note:It is advisable to pre-test enamel colors on examples of the workpieces you are using to resolve any slight variances that may occur on your specific metals.

"I am brand new to enameling so have just completed my studio set up, having bought a very large amount of product from Cool Tools due to a friend telling me what a wonderful site this is. I relied upon her experiences with the enamels and with Cool Tools to launch me into a new direction. I am a wire wrap artists in a Gallery, however, I want to add color to my copper beyond the explorations of fire painting, and patination to produce cool new looks. I will be both torch firing and kiln firing and would not have spent over $400 had it not been how much she thinks of this company."
