Radial Bristle Discs 36 Grit

This grit is for scratch finish on brass, bronze and other hard metals.

3M Radial Bristle Discs will give you the best possible finish and polish with a rotary tool. Use 36 grit to remove fire scale from sterling silver. These work best when stacked 3 to a mandrel (this size is larger than our finer grits, so only 3 will fit). Order a screw mandrel to use with this. If you are right handed, mount the discs so the bristles sweep in a clockwise direction. Bristle discs last a long time and can be used right down to the nub. See our selection of miniature mandrels to fit your flexible shaft or rotary tool. Mandrels sold separately.

Package of 6.

I will purchase this again

"The 3M discs 36 are most useful to creating a mat look and for smoothing light scratches on a silver or copper piece. I like this product and the other 3M disks and use then all the time."

For that Diamond-Dust Finish

"This 36-grit radial bristle gives a great "diamond-dust" effect on sterling silver that survived tumbling. I bought a pair of gold/platinum earrings in Singapore because they had a diamond-dust finish. I asked around our silver studio if anyone knew how I could get this same effect: no one knew. I tried 80-grit sand paper, which worked until age smoothed it down. This 36-grit radial wheel achieved the desired effect. To test its endurance I repeatedly rubbed it with my fingers and it endured. Next test, a tumbler with gunshot: the diamond dust is still visible, but half-diminished. Since most people do not tumble their jewelry after purchase, this is a great solution to achieve the diamond-dust finish on sterling silver."
