"I had gotten a set of soldering blocks to use with my crucible for small-scale smelting. Originally had planned to use that to also do soldering, but with this, I won't have to worry about trying to turn the piece around and risk dropping it or it rolling off the block. Because of this, it makes things more efficient and quicker. It's just too bad it can't flip the item over for you, lol. The base part does detach easily but it's not a concern as long as you don't try to lift or move it while in use. I also like the fact that it's less likely to damage the surface it sits on because of the way it's set up. Its size also makes it very portable."
