Preferred by jewelers to avoid during soldering. Soft charcoal blocks are to position pieces for soldering by pushing pins into the block holding your work in place. Rated up to 3000°F.

"I ordered this charcoal block a few years ago, and got a fantastic block that has lasted me until now. It was in the package that is pictured. When I ordered it this time, I got a different block that is a lighter block that won't last as long and is not the same block I got before. It was in a different package and is of a much lower quality. Very disappointed."
