.925 Sterling Silver, 20 Gauge
This sterling silver ear post features a 1.5mm pad that supports a variety of settings, findings and unique designs—simply use jeweler's epoxy or soldering techniques to secure the elements to the pad to complete the earring. The friction post features a groove that helps secure the ear nut; post earrings require an ear nut to keep the post in place.

"I'm using these in a totally different way. I make my pmc3 earrings and make a tiny hole in the top (smaller than for an ear wire) where I would normally add a post. Instead of soldering (which I don't know how to do yet), I simply put this tiny post through the hole and it works as a post on an earring. It is LOOSE, however, so not ideal, in that the post can be removed from the earring. But the benefit is that I have some earrings that my customers have appreciated that they can hang them on either this post or on an ear wire and can interchange them!"

"Perfect posts for laying over silver clay. Reliable. I do suggest a pickle after firing to remove oxidation"

"I have made several pairs of earrings with these and EZ960. I have been wearing a pair to try them for a period and they have been absolutely fine. Two new pairs were made in exactly the same way and when I went to polish one of them the post broke off at the surface, leaving the flat piece embedded in the earring. I barely touched the post and did not put it under much stress, so I am curious as to why this one has broken off in this way. The same happened to another set I made. Perhaps these are not supposed to be fired? I have emailed you twice about these issue (and two other issues), but as I have not heard in anything in nearly a month I took up your invitation to review the product in the hope that you would respond to my questions about this product and the two other issues I have. I look forward to hearing from you. Nicci"
