Sterling Silver Open Jump Rings - Round

These .925 sterling silver jump rings are half-hard. This means that the metal is going to be fairly easy to open and close, but it also means that these rings can open easily. If you are using a jump ring to connect 2 parts together, you should work harden the ring or solder it closed.

Work hardening can be accomplished by hand or using a tumbler. To work harden by hand, place the jump ring on a bench block and tap a few times with a rawhide mallet or nylon hammer. This will distort the metal, so you may prefer to work harden in a tumbler.
