Sully's Clay Embossing Cutter - Pot - Double Set

Each set includes two cutters. Embossing Cutters are designed to cut the shape and emboss the decorative details at the same time, creating a clean outline with a beautifully impressed pattern within the design.

How to Use

1. Prepare the Clay & Cutter - Roll your clay so it is at least 0.25 mm thicker than the embossing depth of the cutter. This helps ensure the embossed details are transferred without cutting too deeply into the clay. Add a release such as CoolSlip to both the cutting edge and the embossing surface to prevent the clay from sticking.

2. Cut & Emboss - Position the cutter on the clay and press down firmly and evenly. The outer edge will cut your shape while the raised embossing details create the design impression.

3. Dry & Fire - Allow the clay to dry completely, then fire according to the manufacturer’s instructions for your chosen metal clay.

Tips for Best Results

Try Cling Film - Place a layer of cling film over the clay before cutting to create softer, more rounded edges. It can also help prevent clay from sticking to the cutter and embossing details.

Add Texture First - If you would like a textured surface, apply your texture to the clay before cutting and embossing your design.

Don’t Over-Emboss - Avoid pressing the embossing details too deeply into the clay. Excessively deep impressions can create thin, weak areas that may crack or break during drying, finishing, or firing.

Care Instructions - Hand wash only using warm, soapy water. Do not use boiling water, bake, or expose the cutter to high temperatures.

Material - Made from Polylactic Acid (PLA), a bio-based thermoplastic produced from renewable resources such as corn starch and sugarcane. Cutter color may vary.

How They’re Made - Each cutter is individually 3D printed using FDM (Fused Deposition Modelling). Due to the nature of the 3D-printing process, fine layer lines may occasionally transfer to the clay. Please take this into consideration before purchasing.
