"For years I have been using a 9" tripod for all my soldering and torching needs. Lately, it has seemed more difficult for me to see over the 9" tripod to assure pieces were in the right spot before soldering. This shorter tripod has fixed that issue. I am very happy with my purchase and glad I didn't try to shorten the legs on the other one!"
