Sterling silver filled wire offers a perfect match to your sterling silver components at a fraction of the price. The thickness of the sterling silver overlay is 1/10th of overall weight, which is twice as thick as other filled wires. This thicker silver layer allows for more polishing and finishing options as well as light engraving without exposing the brass.

Some interesting effects can be achieved by revealing the brass core through sanding, filing, engraving, etc.

The sterling is bonded to a brass core (CDA #220; 90% copper/10% zinc). Because of the difference in color between the brass substrate and the silver exterior, this material also offers some design possibilities when treated as a bi-metal. By strategically sanding, cutting and polishing, you can create some incredible, unusual effects.

This product is sold in 1 foot lengths. When ordering more than 1 foot, we always try to send out one piece; however, sometimes this is not possible. If you need one complete piece, please say so in your order comments and we will contact you if we are unable to do so.
